Well made and thought out
nicolanameless 16.06.2021
If you like a chin rest over the tailpiece this one has a perfect shape for that position. It has just enough curve to allow your chin to feel secure but not so much as to be uncomfortable. The shape also allows for a certain amount of choice in where the chin is placed. The mountings are also well made so that they only press on the violins body where it is strong on the edge and no metal parts touch the violin.

Perfect for going sans shoulder rest on my violin.
Rohini 16.08.2022
For a while I have been struggling to be comfortable playing. I have tried many chin rests and shoulder rests. My gut instinct has always been to not use a shoulder rest, I have always been in more pain with one but seeing as I could not find a comfortable set up and I was going against the tide of popular opinion I kept trying different combinations, spending money constantly. This chin rest has finally allowed me to put aside my shoulder rests and play freely with security and total comfort. It has been a game changer. The reason for marking it down is that the underside touches the tailpiece so I had to raise the underside with some cork. This is the second Berber I have bought, the other from a different source and that had the same issue even on a different violin. However, it wasn’t much work to add a thin layer of cork from an old wine bottle and it has been well worth it.

WOW!

This is seriously comfy, and so ergonomic. The beautiful boxwood compliments my red/brown varnished violin making it look like its worth a lot more than it is! Everyone else who have tried it have eventually ended up buying one too. I think it is probably best for more petite players as the central positioning helps to reach around the violin and get them very highest notes and runs. Me, my sister, and most of my friends are using this one (or the design at least - boxwood doesn't go with every varnish!), when in doubt, especially about moving to a central chin rest, this is a great one to go with.

Broken after first use

Wood is not strong. Wood split in the line of screw on the first use. Dont buy as the wood is very week as it snap in the line of screw holes/screws.
