Bought it for my Precision bass and yes, it makes a difference spreading the weight evenly on the shoulder. Some commented that it is too long and I have to agree with that. I am 183 cm (6'0"), I am using mine at the shortest possible lenght and the bass hangs right on my belly. For those who want it higher, it is probably not recommended, unless you are a very big person.
