Little beastie
This little this is a monster! Having only tried this in a passive bass and not with sterlings active EQ, i feel i have only half the picture although it's still surpassed my expectations of bass humbuckers. This pick up spans a fairly limited frequency range on it's own and communicates lows ok but gives the middle of the board a strong presence. With a decent amp and with a fresh set of roundwounds this pup will make you bass sing, or even scream under some distortion as it stood up well underneath the most warped signal i could dial in

Very powerful without the added noise!
On every other bass I used, there was a lot of finger noise when playing over the pickup but this is totally eliminated, possibly because I had a pro wire it in series so both coils are grounded, but this is also the best tone option for this pickup if you are using it in a stingray style bass. The tone is versatile and makes the guitar easier to play, the pickup does most of the sound control for you, rather than having to adjust your velocity on certain parts it handles everything.

Good Replacement for Harley Benton MM
Alright, yes, I did it. Got a pup replacement for a bass almost the same price, but it's worth it, I love it. Stopped using 3 band eqs long time ago, so pup is wired passive. Mind that you'll probably need to modify the pickguard, and one pup screw might not fall right into the current holes. Main difference with stock pup: the SD has more warmth.
