Not Working Well with KORG Kross SE-61
Gunawan 02.06.2020
I used this pedal for KORG Kross SE-61. I found a problem that sometimes the sustain pedal is not working. To solve this problem, I have to unplug and re-plug to the jack, or calibrate the half-damper function in the keyboard.
Actually, the pedal default polarity is same with KORG default polarity, and the pedal has a switch to change polarity.

Basic sustain pedal
Anonymous 03.03.2016
I purchased 2 of these to act as sostenuto and sustain pedals for the M-Audio Keystation Pro 88 and they do the job and work with a variety of devices - I've since replaced my M-Audio keyboard and replaced it with a Korg digital piano and my remaining SP1 performs admirably (I say remaining as my Korg only has one SP input).

What to get with the SP-1 is a basic package - a plastic, non-latching pedal with a rubberised base that basically switches from off to on (or on to off if you use the polarity reversal switch on the back - this is essential for some devices in order to get it to work in the traditional manner).

Years later, I'm still using this pedal for sustain but the sheet of rubber on the bottom has started to peel away and is difficult to get back on (it has little rubber pins that slot into the base). It has also developed a distracting squeak but I would expect that after years of use - that's nothing a bit of WD40 wouldn't solve!

My experience with the SP-1 is that it is an adequate pedal, gets the job done and, if in a pinch, I'd get one again. However, long-term I'd probably be inclined to get a more traditional single-unit setup instead of 2 separate pedals.

Good and cheap
Anonymous 11.11.2015
On/off sustain pedal with a polarity switch so it works with any keyboard with a sustain input. Length of the cable perfect, not too short, not too long. Feels like it would not break even when gigging with it.

What I received though does not look exactly like that in the picture, my version has those stripes in groups of three and the text "M-AUDIO" is black. But I don't think it matters.

It's good and cheap. I recommend.

Pedal with polarity switching. Made well, iron + good non-slip pads on both sides. The most important thing is that there is no microswitch inside, but a thin plate that opens the contact when pressed. Therefore, the pedal is almost silent. But this fact is also a minus, since these plates can break if they are made poorly.

I have bought this model more than once. Easy to use, suitable for all models of synthesizers and MIDI keyboards

not only a sustain pedal
Tracii 13.02.2014
Even though it's primary use is as a sustain pedal, the M-Audio SP-1 also works as a momentary switch. I hook it up with my hard disk recorder (Yamaha AW16G) to pop in and out of the rec mode - great for fixing little mistakes or adding overdubs without having to erase unwanted in-between noises afterwards. So far, it has not given my any trouble, but I only use it at home where sturdyness is a non-issue.

The key is the switch
Palladio 03.10.2024
I have a Korg PS1 that I have used for years. Unfortunately, it delivers the opposite signal my Yamaha keyboard expects (normally open vs normally closed). The M-audio SP-1 fixes this with a switch to change the signal between both options. It is less pretty, but as sturdy as the Korg. Does a damn fine job!

It's a tank
AleksanderS 15.02.2025
Bought it in early 2023, been using it for over 2 years for my BOSS RC-600 looper, have occasionally used it for a Thomann DP-26 digital piano too. I was very surprised to find out that it's an all-metal design with rubber pad both on top and bottom. Compact design, low travel, doesn't slip, doesn't squeak, looks like it will last forever. Excellent value for money.

TP
Basic sustain-pedal
Tommi P. 02.02.2014
This is a good, basic sustain pedal. It doesn't feel specially sturdy, but has lasted me a good time anyway. Big plus for switchable polarity, so it work with any sustain-input keyboard. Long lead is also good thing to have.
