Great for fret crowning

I mean it's very self explanatory.
The file does the job for me (for my jumbo fret guitars atleast).
Came as advertised and saved me a lot of time in fret leveling my guitar.

Why?

I've bought the Goldo fret file from Thomann before so maybe I'm spoilt but this thing is soooooo sooooo bad. It just sits on the frets and runs across. I couldn't even repurpose it as a polishing tool because the cavity doesn't fit properly over most of the frets on my guitars ...

a good tool

i didn’t want to spend too much money on something i new wouldn’t see that much use and this is exactly what i wanted, a good quality tool for the very cheap price tag. would recommend if you’re in the same boat as me

Get a better tool

Do not save money on tools unless you are rich and can afford to buy many cheap ones until you find a good one.

This is for sure not a good one. It is dull and the profile is very weird. It is too flat for regular frets. Only one of the sides has any grip, the other one does basically nothing.

Do not waste your money on this, get a better file.

30 % of the teeths are none existing on the file and the ones that is on the file is not even sharp. With 36 years of experience as a mechanic this file is the worst I have seen so fare.

I tried using it on my Harley Benton bass which had super sharp fret edges. It took me a minute to fix one fret. So yes this works.

Improves the feel

This is a great tool for rounding off those frets that stick out a bit. It dramatically improved the neck feel on my cheaper guitars and the design prevented any damage to the neck.
