Gotoh SG381-07 MG-T Locking 6L C

Upgraded my cheap Squier Tele Affinity with the SG381-7 and it's a perfect fit. You het 3 short ones (for g-b-e) and 3 long ones (E A D). No drilling necessary. All you have to do is pre-drill where the screw should go and then screw the added screw in by hand. Don' worry that the angle on the guitar head is now bigger, that's actually much, much better for your string clarity. It fits perfectly. I installed ernie ball power slinky's and haven't had to tune the new strings for 2 whole days. Incredibly well make Gotoh locking tuners. It took me 15 min. to install these and I had never replaced any tuners before in my life.

I bought these to replace the older tuners on my 90s Levinson Blade ; they managed to fit extremely well with the original holes - no extra work necessary!

Build quality, feel and aesthetics are brilliant - GOTOH have never disappointed me as a brand for its high end Japanese made quality.

The staggered nature of the tuners will improve the break angle over the nut and ensure your strings ring out true. However, You will still need a string tree for the high E and B strings.

Overall a solid upgrade for any guitar. Make sure you measure up your existing guitar holes before purchasing! :)

I add these to any Ibanez guitar, unless they are already installed from factory. It is a drop in replacement and makes changing strings so much easier. They are shockingly good tuners, no back slap, neither too slow or too eager. The mechanical quality is just incredible at this price. The stability is amazing - I have one Ibanez with these tuners which has a a Floyd Rose installed in place of the original edge tremolo. The locking nut on that guitar has now been removed. The strings are locked at bridge and the tuners and the stability is ridiculous. I have the freedom to use the tuners if something goes out of tune, and not the dreaded fine tuners which run out of tuning ability.

Loving this guitar, which stays in tune pretty well, but the stock tuners are not as responsive as I’m used to. So I bought these Gotoh tuners and they are a straight swap for the HBs with no drilling required. The HB has a thick headstock, so they don’t project far, but the three longer tuners work well for the D,A & E strings and the shorter tuners are fine for the G, B and high E strings, given that these are locking tuners, so don’t require the strings to wrap around the tuning shafts so much as with non locking tuners. Tuning is very smooth and accurate now. These are excellent value for high quality Japanese made parts.
