Set up great out of box. Playability and frets very good. Sound is developing very well. Bright and tight out of the box, but it’s loud and is filling out nicely now and is starting to loosen up. The VOS finish is ok, but on the back and sides it isn’t great to be honest. I think it will age well. Works on the rest of the guitar though I feel. The biggest negative is lazy finishing. It seems like whoever built it couldn’t be bothered to spend 20 mins with a bit of sandpaper cleaning up inside the guitar. No excuse for it nowadays and it’s an insult to paying customers that they can’t seem to get it together in this area. But I got this at a reduced price. Sound wise it’s great. Plenty of mojo and getting better all the time. I always wanted an AJ and I’m definitely happy I got it. Considering the price point of the Martin Authentic series, I feel Gibson have done well. The case is average but does the job. A guitar I feel will be superb after 5 or 6 years of playing. But lazy finishing means the first impressions were bad.
