Which DJ workstation is right for me?

Why do I need a special DJ workstation?
It makes sense to buy a workstation or table that has been designed with DJing in mind, because ordinary desks or dining room tables are almost always too inflexible, rarely providing you with the right working height or sufficient work surface. Dedicated DJ workstations are tailored to the use of record players, mixing desks, and all the other equipment a DJ needs, with the appropriate dimensions and accessibility: Compartments and shelves will give you quick access to storage media, laptops, controllers, or effects. What does a stationary DJ table do?
You can set up a stationary DJ table in your own home, creating a perfectly-sized workstation for all your DJ equipment: Now you can concentrate on your work, focus on the music, and improve your DJ skills. A stationary DJ table is obviously ideal for beginners, but also useful for more experienced DJs. And if you are happiest recording your latest podcasts, you can find special podcasting desks that will take up less space.
Worktop
First of all, a stationary DJ table needs a solid worktop, usually made of MDF. This gives you the stable surface to ensure that your turntables don't jump and your controllers don't bounce, for instance when performance pads are triggered quickly. When choosing the size of the worktop, make sure that all your media players, turntables, and mixing gear can fit comfortably. If you are planning on creating a battle-style setup (with a smaller, more manageable mixer, usually oriented vertically), you will need to plan your workstation's dimensions carefully. The worktop of a podcast table is significantly smaller, so check whether all your devices will have enough space.
Body
The body of a stationary DJ table is also designed to provide the necessary stability. Its vibration-damping construction prevents your table from rattling or producing other noises that will interfere with your performance. Well-positioned cable feed-throughs in several places help keep your setup tidy and prevent power or data cables from blocking your workspace.
Equipment stands

What does a mobile DJ table do?
A mobile DJ table is particularly useful if you often have to take your gear with you when travelling to events. The tables, or any other furniture for that matter, provided at corporate celebrations or other parties are usually not particularly suitable for DJ setups – often they are both too low and too small to work with properly. As a mobile DJ, there are a number of special features to look out for; above all, though, familiarise yourself with your new equipment's dimensions, both for setting it up and for getting it from A to B.

Body
The body of a mobile DJ table should be able to be folded, collapsed, or otherwise dismantled. There are tables whose body folds up into a dedicated travel case, which as such require no additional storage space. Tables fitted with castors are easier to move around once installed; it's also always worth checking if a table can be assembled without tools, so you can set up your new workstation quickly and easily.
Storage space
