Ich habe mir für meine Bach Stradivarius einen Satz Bach HEAVY VALVE CUPS L zugelegt. Der Hersteller Bach verspricht durch die schweren Ventildeckel einen wärmeren und kraftvolleren Sound.
Die Bach Trompete ist ja von Hause aus schon ein sehr gutes Instrument. Von daher war ich von der Wirkung der CUPS überrascht.

Schraubt man alle drei Deckel auf, hat die Trompete einen dunklen, zentrierten Klang, ähnlich wie eine Konzerttrompete. Am besten gefiel mir die Variante 2, bzw. 2+3. Durch das Aufschrauben der schweren Deckel auf das 2. Ventil, bzw. das 2. und 3. Ventil spricht die Trompete in der Höhe über G3 besser und leichter an. Hierdurch erzielt man einen helleren und strahlenderen Ton, als die Bach an sich schon hat. Das heißt natürlich nicht, dass man mit den schweren Ventildeckeln „per Knopfdruck“ schwindelnde Höhen erreicht. Ein gewisser Ansatz muss schon vorhanden sein.
Die verschiedenen Variationen über die Nutzung der Ventildeckel muss jeder für sich individuell ausmachen.

Fazit ist, durch das Blasen mit den schweren Ventildeckeln ändert sich der Klang sowie das Anspruchverhalten der Trompete komplett. Man hat das Gefühl, auf einer anderen, besseren Trompete zu spielen. Die Anschaffung der HEAVY VALVE CUPS war für mich eine lohnende Investition.
