It's a 4U Desktop rack in a maple finish, job done
I'm using this to hold a twin CD drive and controller and it is the perfect depth, a lot of desktop racks are very deep and 'industrial' looking but this is ideal for mic processors, EQ etc. The rack itself is wobble free without any hardware in it and rock solid with the equipment in, the leading edge of the rack has a slight rake back which gives a good look. The maple finish is very well applied with no sign of the foil lifting at corners or edges and gives the impression that it should last. The CD drives are being used as sources for specialist programs in a small radio studio and the rack does not look at all out of place. Very fair value for money.

great studio furniture
this is a great rack specifically designed for desktop usage. I manage to hold 2 rack mounted machine in total 4 U rack units. one great th8ng is that the top can be used to position the monitor speakers and pretty solid. This way provide a cheaper option that replicates some of the expensive desk units in the market. the choices of colour give user some great mix and match and the maple colour looks excellent with my desk. In terms of the rack, the design is well thought and the bolts are in the rack rail which you need to place them in a right position in order to screw your rack in. Some planning work is required but should not be a problem. The only minor enhancement is thag the internal height is just able to fit 4U, a slightly gap to have some buffer would be good as some rack units would require air ventilation.

Practical and stylish
This is exactly what I needed: a compact, stylish rack that doesn't take up too much space on my desk. It comes all pieced together, so you don't even have to assemble the unit. The height is just perfect and allows me to place my monitors on top of them, at ear-height.The quality is excellent, the unit very stable.Good stuff.

These are some great racks! :P
No, seriously. I've got my monitors on top of them without any issues, as well as items mounted into them. The look matches my table which is perfect and as it comes in different colors you can use whichever one suits your setup.
Only downside, like any racks I guess, is that it is a m*****f***** to mount things into them, but once the hard work is done you got yourself some nice looking racks for your equipment.
Excellent if all you've currently got for your studio is a flat table.

Suited for small home studios
The Thon Studio Desktop Rack does as promised. You get 4U of space (leaving me with "headroom" of about 5mm, which might be too few for a heat-inducing-poweramp) within 4 veneered pieces of (ply-?)wood, with a thickness of about 1,6cm each.
The height is well suited for placing a monitor on top, while you're using a laptop. On the other hand - unless you get a second unit, you have scarce room, so be aware of that, when you use it as starting equipment for your home studio.
The veneer is done better than on IKEA-furniture, where you can expect damaged/chipped/unclean edges.
On another note - my rack is housing a Line 6 preamp/modelling-unit and a rack-drawer. Do not forget the dimensions! The rack drawer protrudes the rack by about 15cm.

Good simple rack - does what it says on the tin :)
Solid construction. The cage nuts are movable within the rack, so you have a bit of play when mounting your equipment (which is good). Everything tightens up nice and solid.
On my desk, the monitor is on top of the rack and is *just* at the maximum height of what I would call acceptable for sitting down so do keep an eye on the height when you go for this one.
