Great pickup
taddeomaiden 01.08.2017
Great sounding pickup. Lots of lows and crispy highs with crunchy low mids and scooped hi-mids. Very hot output.
Standard Seymour Duncan high quality.
Its only flaw, if I have to find one, is it's a bit noisy, being a single coil. But that's not a problem, considering it's supposed to be used in a pair, because the couple is perfectly hum-canceling. While if you're considering this pickup in a P/J setup, maybe you should choose a dual-coil J pickup (like the STK -1 or 2) to combine with the SPB-3.

Soice us your bass!

Great to add some rock punch to your bass! Easy to install (if you know the basics of soldering.) Great in conjunction with the Seymour Duncan SPB-3.

Punchy Jazz pickup
neepheid 01.10.2014
I purchased this pickup for a project bass I was putting together, and it had to compete with a Stingray style pickup in the neck position. I was a little worried about output levels and so plumped for the Quarter Pound. I was pleased with the sound of the pickup, and pleased with the construction of it as well as the packaging. It still didn't have quite the oomph necessary to live with the Stingray one but I bet as a matched pair you would have a very lively and exciting sounding Jazz bass.
