Like the big brother .....

Stephan aus N., 08.03.2017
I play beside the 2525 H mini also the 100W top part 2555X.
Operation, arrangement of the switches / potentiometer is identical. Also the sound is identical. Only through the mostly torn-up master there are small differences, but they are more noticeable at home than at the Proberaum.

I play in a rock coverband with drums, bass, 2 guitars, keyboard. In the Proberaum the 20W mode is really loose and I am pleased about easy to transport 10kg weight.

The sound should be well known. The Jubilee sounds really good and I have finally found my Les Paul sound after years. Wonderful mid-range (mid-range controller from position 6 or 14 o'clock). Bold underneath. The overall sound control is very effective.
The Jubi conjures up a fantastic, never-ending sustain in the tone. I still play a JVM205H, because in the direct comparison everything is missing. The sound is ok, but this "Fatness" and "Smoothness" (wat for words) does not know. The Jubi is the soooooo raus.

Max gain is definitely not a metal, but there are other amps for that. Here is Blues and Rock program. And even the Cleanton sounds good.

Super, if not historically correct, if one could "Clean / Crunch" (here switchable via a train potentiometer) also by foot switch could operate. Since would be synonymous then the "problem", the volume here is unfortunately very different. For me the only drawback of the amp. For the stage you have to stop, we see one is clear.

For the IMO price a real sound bargain.

Mini with Maxi Marshall Sound

19.02.2017
Before I try to evaluate the Marshall Amplifier Mini Silver Jubilee 2525 Head, I would like to describe my expectations, requirements and applications. I practice and play in the living room. This does not mean that there might be band activities in the future. I mainly deal with classic Bluesrock, so: Bluesbreaker, Cream, Jimi, Free and something. I am also quite a fan of Joe Bonamassa, when he was still in small clubs and original Silver Jublilees have formed the core of his various amplifier arrangements. So I expect a classic Marshall power stage distortion mainly fed with a Les Paul. In recent years, I have tried various transistor, hybrid and modeling amps and preamplifiers. The question, whether it makes sense to play an original 50W JCM800 / 2204 over a 1960 4x12 cabinet in the living room, I can clearly answer with NO: even a mastervolumen amplifier is only really alive when the master volume is so at 14 clock and there There? S trouble with the neighbors in the whole street.
Now to the Mini Jubilee: in short, so far no amp has met my expectations. In the 5W circuit with almost fully upset Leadmaster volume in the lead channel and medium gain setting, this sounds like a typical classic Marshall. Also dynamic? Ie, with nuances of the stop and settings of the volume potentiometer on the guitar, the mini is as it is for a real tube amplifier. I use my 4x12 JCM900 lead box. With a volume potentiometer on the LP, rotated down to 2-3, the sound level is about 90-95 dBA at a distance of 3m directly in front of the box. (This is still really noisy but can be controlled in the mentioned environment).
OK- in the 20W setting it sounds even better ... but that would be something for the rehearsal room or club gig. From the 'old-school' standpoint, the possibility to switch between lead and clean channels is the pure luxury. Also the FX loop you like to take for the Delay pedal. The Jubilee specific clip circuit in a crunch mode I have not needed so far. The attempt to describe further sound and sound impressions with words, I spare myself.
I consider the musical and technical gain gained by the Mini Jubilee as essential and impressive compared to the typical 'practice amps'. The ones known to me so far? Quite quite good - Exercise modeling amplifiers do not come in there (in the Kemper league I do not know).
The 2525H looks great and makes a solid impression. The delivery of Thomann was reliable and fast.
If you are mainly active in the described sound area, have raised game demands or even is already in the club with gigs, the Mini Jubilee will inspire you.
