Great Little keyboard
Jonathan6623, 15.05.2014
Completely satisfied, Highly recommended. Great sound, lovely size for a child and very intuitive to use. Also functions as a real useable instrument that will be used for many years to come. Not much else to say as it does exactly what is required.

Not just for kids!
mariobl, 26.07.2017
Since I often do not work at home for a long time because of my job, I had been looking for something to practice on the go. Although my Yamaha NP-11 is rather compact and lightweight, it's a block on the leg that demanded an alternative.

After an unsuccessful attempt with the Rolling Piano Startone MKR-61, I had first squinted with one eye for an instrument of Yamaha's reface series, but the only 37 keys seemed a bit too little, and the budget would have been too strained. So I came to the Casio SA-76. Sure, the nursery touch was not very tempting. But when I unpacked it and struck the first notes, I was pleasantly surprised.

First of all, the positive impressions: The sound does not match a velocity-sensitive keyboard with sampled sounds, but is far better than cheap no-name keyboards (I have relevant experience with a gruesome "Funkey 61"). The noise of the headphone output is not significant. The volume control is a real slider, so that not like the often in this price range usual double buttons every time after switching the volume must be re-regulated. The mini keys are easy to play, the change to normal sized keys back and forth is not a serious problem.

Where there is light is also shadow. The sound from the speakers is just tolerable, but nothing more. The tuning function is rather dispensable, who wants to play with the Casio in an ensemble that can not or does not want to tune its instruments to the usual chamber sound ...? Instead, an octave transposition would sometimes be helpful. They are indeed, but not explicitly, but only based on the set sound (eg e-bass). The quick switch for grand piano / organ sound is fixed, it would be better if you could choose two sounds. The piano sound is quite passable, but the organ sound no. 16 rather not.

All in all, it is much more than a toy for children. The 44 keys are sufficient for many things (but not for Chopin and Liszt). In particular, some of the organ sounds and the synthesizer sounds are so mature that you could imagine - via the headphone output and a separate amplifier - even a real appearance in front of more than just living room audience. It is always good for practicing, although many will certainly miss the velocity of touch. Therefore, I advise against using the Casio as the sole instrument, if you really want to learn to play the piano.
