Excellent for recording guitar amp
I purchased this from Thomann for mic-ing up a small 10" guitar amp and it has really delivered. The 545 is a predecessor of the classic SM57. It's a dynamic microphone, so is ideal for getting a punchy signal from your amp. I've found it a big improvement on the condenser I was using before, as I'm getting more of the amp sound and less (in fact barely any) room sound. I could hear the difference immediately and my opinion hasn't changed in the couple of months I've been using it. The quality is top-notch too. It does a decent job on vocals as well, if you're looking for a multi-purpose mic.

Very good mic for drums and guitars
Its sound is quite similar to sm57, but a bit brighter. Seems to be rock solid, for the moment, and im really satisfied with the sound, wich I prefer personally to the 57. Very easy to use, and quite simple, just as a dynamic microphone must be! Handles high pressure levels quite easy.

I really love this microphone.
Sounds great in both roles - as a harmonica microphone plugged into an amp (Hi-Z), and to pick up the sound of the said amp (Lo-Z). The weird thing is the switch - it only completely kill the signal in Lo-Z, in Hi-Z the signal leaks through.

A cleaner SM57
A cleaner and brighter sound than an SM57. Super smooth paired with a good preamp my experience with Great river MP2NV, Neve 1073LB and API 512V. It definitely sound different then an SM57, I can tell is less muffled for sure and a bit cleaner. Cuts better in a mix. .....the build quality is inferior to a sm57 since the black part of the mic is plastic. Overall I would rate it 9/10 in considering its versatility, sound and price.

Use it on guitar cabs
It's a bit different than the SM57. I like this more, not as harsh as the 57. Micing guitar cabs for metal recording.

Great Microphone!
Sounds and measures exactly like the modern SM57 but with different cosmetics. It is a novelty/collector mic that is also very useful in all applications one would use an SM57.
