Ibanez AS73-TBC

Owning over 20 guitars from mid to high price range this Yamaha gets the most use. Looks and sounds beautiful. Extremely versatile. In studio use it cuts nicely trough mix. I really like the neck profile. It was almost perfect but I had to do some changes to intonation and the mic switch blade was bad on my unit. Sound was cutting off in neck position unless you wiggle the switch. This is usually caused by dust getting into the blade when guitar is stored. I managed to make it somewhat better using electrical cleaning spray but it still has some problems so I will be updating the switch blade to a new one before I go playing live gigs with it.

I am very careful about what I want and I always do a background study of a suitable product.

This time, though, I have to admit that even though I was aware of how good this guitar is, I was still amazed at how great this product really is.

When my order was delivered I was thrilled.
After acting like a little kid at Christmas (lots of tearing noises and cardboard box pieces in the air), I was amazed at how good it looked in real life (I had only seen it in the pictures). Such a beauty!

And then...
The first thought when I played a couple of chords was
"Oh hell! That's a beautiful sound"

The sound is pleasantly soft and warm but still powerful without the amplifier. Acquired as an acoustic guitar will therefore perform its function perfectly.

The tuning was almost perfect right out of the box, only a little tuning and beautiful chords rushed into my ears.

Of course, harware could always be better, but because everything works fine. The sound is balanced and beautiful, the tuning seems to stay well, I really can't complain.

I really can't (yet) play the guitar well, but with this instrument it feels and sounds like my skill increased by at least a couple of notches.
