A very ok little speaker
We bought these small 8" speakers mainly for monitor use. We usually prefer a philosophy of directing several precise currents of monitor signal in the places on the stage, where they are needed, instead of just having 2-3 big monitors in the front of the stage.
One of the first things you'll notice is the ridiculously low weight. These boxes weigh nothing, and moving around these ones are very easy. Therefore they are quite easy to pick up and put on a pole, if you intend to use these as FOH speakers.
As a FOH speaker the design of the box is ok, but in monitor use, either the power cord or the XLR cord is bent at its root, which might shorten the lifespan of some cables. The main problem is, that the connectors are not in the middle of the back panel, but at either left or right side, so you'll either squash the power cord or XLR.
The speaker sounds alright. The upper end is quite harsh, which is typical for relatively cheap speakers, but if you have an EQ to fiddle around with, these are quite alright. The plastic body is not very good at restricting sound for also reflecting back to the stage, but that's the same for most plastic speakers.
If you really want to, you can make these speakers work quite nicely at small venues, especially if you have sub or two to your disposal, but I wouldn't push my luck too far. A concert night at a small cafe would be an ideal place to use these.
They're cheap, simple, and quite durable speakers. None of them have failed us, despite some harsher user conditions at times. What more could you ask for this money? 4/5!

Great speaker for the price. Have used this product as, monitors, backfills and main speakers at small acoustic gigs. Light weight and solid enough, even if plastic.

Hinta/laatusuhde kohdallaan.
