Joe visited our Service Centre yet again, this time for a peek inside the PA, Lighting and Video department. Our highly professional staff there were kind enough to show him around and even put on a little demonstration of lights and music. We present you with a short blog article about the department that deals with all the equipment necessary for putting on a fantastic live or recorded show. Enjoy!


Think it’s unfixable?

Think again! Our passionate team will get your gear fixed and into useable shape in no time. They will either repair it on the spot in Treppendorf or arrange to have it sent to the manufacturer’s Service Partner. This department, in particular, deals with the following categories of products:

  • PA speakers
  • PA systems
  • Wireless systems (for mics, instruments and video)
  • Video cameras
  • Live video controllers
  • Power amps
  • Batteries
  • DMX light interfaces / controllers
  • DMX lights
  • Spotlights
  • Dynamic stage mics
  • Clamps and stands for lights, PA speakers, cameras, etc.
  • Trussing
  • Stage platforms
  • Furniture
  • Record players and needles

What do the SC PA, Lighting and Video team do on a daily basis?

Daily tasks are pretty varied, depending on what items get sent to the department, and include:

  • Reading and replying to customer emails and correspondence from the Customer Care department
  • Checking items that have been sent back for damage (testing batteries, cameras, speakers, mics, record players, lights, controllers, mixers, etc.)
  • Repairing whatever can be repaired under warranty
  • Forwarding items in need of repair to the brand’s Service Partner (if needed)
  • Servicing or repairing items that are destined for B-stock sale
  • Warranty checks for our own brands (in cooperation with our customer service)
  • Warranty Checks of all brands within the third year of our Thomann Warranty

Tools used

A workshop isn’t complete without its indispensable tools. In the PA, Lighting and Video service centre you’ll find the staff using voltage testers, soldering irons, screwdrivers, tweezers, hammers, glue, clamps, mallets, sandpaper, canisters of compressed air and more. Let the pros handle the job, they know, from experience, which tool does the job best.
