Guitar arrived with a loose tone knob, exposed wiring near the pickup and a sizeable cosmetic flaw at the back (line with no black around the edge of the guitar).
This was quite surprising as Yamaha are known for having good quality control. I'm sure this may not be most people's experience, but note that this does happen.

Poor Quality - Same Defects Twice
Tony278 15.09.2025
I ordered this guitar twice, and both times it arrived with the same issues - as if the exact same defect guitar had just been sent to me again. The pickguard is scratched and has black spots on it. The plastic parts are poorly finished, with rough edges and leftover residue from the manufacturing process. The entire guitar was covered in dust and wood particles straight out of the box. On top of that, one of the strings constantly buzzes, which makes the guitar unpleasant to play.
Overall, this guitar has too many quality problems and shows very poor quality control. Extremely disappointing experience.

Excellent guitar for the price
Ashton M 08.09.2025
Another excellent guitar from Yamaha, the Pacifica is an incredibly cost effective guitar that sounds like it should cost at least triple the price. If you're in the market for an affordable strat clone that sounds great, this is it. It arrives ready to play out of the box and holds its tune very well. The double coil pickup sounds great, and the others provide a unique blend of sounds, making this a very versatile guitar for a number of genres, from funk to hard rock.
