Sleeve and tip cables shorting at both ends
Leeeeee, 06.07.2021
The inner and outer cables are wrapped together before within the jack before being soldered, so both ends are shorting. Needs cutting and soldering together properly.

Not of merchantable quality
Critic, 07.01.2021
This is a waste of money. I used mine a few times and it doesn't work any more - clearly a weak connection. Don't bother.

A working jack cable
Doccy, 29.08.2020
I was looking for jack cables to connect some instruments around a looper I just purchased, and went for these since they are cheap.
After a few days of using them, they work fine. They are easy to twist which makes them very easy and pleasanth to handle, but it also makes me wonder about how they will hold in time.

If I want to take some jacks with me to move (from home to practice session back to home...etc..., or constantly to gigs), I would buy something which feels sturdier, I'd be too worried that they wear out too fast.
For me, they will just stay at home and not move, so they are perfect, and very affordable, so I'm very happy with my purchase and would definitely buy more if I need jacks to stay in place and not move.

Very nice
kilovanni, 20.01.2021
It's a cable. It transports wiggly air, also known as music, to any kind of air wiggler to amplify the wiggling to audible levels. Does not get itself into weird twists. And even though it does not have a textile finish, the rubber feels very nice. It's the kind of rubber that is a bit rough to the touch, and yet feels soft. I also like that the plugs are serviceable; you can twist the plug and check the connections if needed.

Pros:
- Price
- It works
- Feels nice to the touch
- Serviceable plugs

Cons:
- It doesn't make my wiggly air sound better than it is....

Use as a spare
TenK, 20.07.2021
Decent cable for the price. It's works. Nice to the touch.
Have protection against bends.
But poor "noise" protection. Adds some noise to amp.
I put this cable in bag as spare. If something happens with main. I always can use this one for some time.

Incorporates a lifesaving design feature, however poor build quality lets it down.
15.09.2016
((EDIT): Below is my first review of this product. A day after I published the review, the cable started making hissing noises, making it practically unusable. It get's 3 stars because of the spring, which really impressed me at the time, but didn't make much difference in the end)

The single reason I was initially drawn to this cable was because of the ridiculously cheap price - I could buy 3 of these for the same price as one cable in my local music store. The Sssnake seemed to be getting fairly decent reviews and so I popped it into my basket along with my new Fender Jaguar guitar.

When my package arrived, I was eager to try my new guitar out, and so plugged it straight in with the Sssnake cable (I had broken my old one by pulling it out of the amp forcefully one too many times)

What can I say- the cable did it's job. It sounded just as good as my old fender cable, which I was very pleased about, given the cheap price. However, what really impressed me, and what urged me to write this review seeing as nobody else had written much about it - was the small spring located just above the jack cover (clearly seen in image 2 on the product page)

Before, when I was using my old cable, when I was finished playing, I would yank the the cable out forcefully, holding onto the black bit just above the jack cover. Over time, this caused the connection to come loose and break. With the Sssnake, upon trying to pull it out like before, the spring simply pulled up and sprung back, leaving me both humbled and impressed by such a simple design feature which would now save me countless cables. I proceeded to remove the cable from the amp safely by holding onto the jack cover.

If you are someone who is constantly breaking their cables by inappropriate removal from amp or guitar - this is the cable for you.

If not, hey, its only 2.50, why not give it a go.

Good radio antenna for little price
SergeyEvseev, 18.05.2018
I use this cable for exercising and home recording for almost 2 years now, may be 5-6 days in a week for 1-2 hours per day.

It's still alive and looks robust and durable enough to work for years if you are not very demanding player like me.

But... big But... Though the cable is made well, by design it's lacking any shielding and all that stuff preventing noise. My particular one picks radio waves up and along with the guitar signal I'm listening local radio stations (and loud enough to annoy me a lot). Millenium DI-E di-box helps with this problem, but anyway the cable is noisy enough. So I can't record any good sounding demo, it demands a lot of dirty signal cleaning work.

Summary: yeah, for the price the cable is not bad, you can use it with benefits for your learning process, but don't expect stable good quality to play live or record any good-sounding demo.

If you have enough money to buy more expensive cable - buy more expansive cable.

Not a long term solution
Jack McD, 05.01.2021
I bought this to replace my cheap plastic one I was using. It was of good quality and worked fine for a while. However, the casing around the jacks often worked free and exposed the wires a lot. As such, the wires began to wear and one day just completely disconnected from the jack. I'm sure if I was a little more careful with it, it would have lasted longer, but if you plan on using this as a gigging musician, Id look else where.

Fair product
Michael Polimeneris, 16.05.2021
No problem at all, good quality and performance.
I remain with question, why Thomann included it as extra addon peripheral of the Harley Benton S-620TR "G41 set", since the guitar was accompanied by another, equally long with no labels, yet still very decent. A good hot spare backup anyway. Thank you Thomann.

This is the cheapest guitar cord, but that's a plus, not a minus.
Vladimir Fadeev, 09.03.2021
This is the cheapest guitar cord, but that's a plus, not a minus. He has a good screen and good quality of soldering connectors. The braid is soft and elastic, so the cable does not puff up after long-term storage when rolled up. The connectors have metal springs for gentle bending without creases in places of deformation. The connectors themselves are collapsible, so in case of damage, you can repair or replace / extend the cable yourself. They are fixed in the socket securely and with a pleasant click.

More than enough for home use
Mr.Küpsis, 09.04.2021
I have been using this cable indoors for more than a year. It has seen some bending, pulling action but survived all of them. What else could you ask from a cable. I like that it has that springy part to prevent bending damages. It must be a must for all cables. And it proves better than plastic ones.

Does its job, for its price is totally awesome. Using it for electric guitars to audio card, i dont see any difference in noise levels using other cables.

Great value for money, if you treat it well
13.03.2017
I have used these leads for a number of uses, direct into guitar to amp, between pedals, and in effects loops. More often than not however this would be my lead of choice to run between tuner or noise gate and amp (as it is a sensible length and I generally prefer angled jack leads for my guitar)

The build quality has been fine, and whilst other reviews have mentioned the coil spring near the Jack being helpful when removing the lead from an instrument, I would still take care when doing so as this definitely becomes the lead's weak link over time and repeated use.

Sound quality with this lead has never been an issue and for the price you really can't go wrong. In future I think I would find it hard to justify spending more money on a different cable knowing that one of these will do the job just fine.

Very nice build quality, definitely better than those coming with HB guitars. There is no noise generated by the cable using with my guitars. That's all I need.

As long it is mean to remain connected all the time it s about fine. However do not disconnect/connect too often if you want to avoid bad surprises. Quality itself it s just right for the price.

Sssuperb!!!
Woodwork Barn, 17.10.2017
There really is nothing to grumble about with these leads. I have bought worse for three times the price before. Sturdy well soldered plugs and decent quality cable. Probably not indestructible but my gear gets reasonably well looked after anyway. They look and feel like they should last well and despite the name, they don't actually hiss! On top of all this, they look good as well, I will definitely be buying more of these in the future.

Don't be a snob and be put off by the very low price, get some, you will not be disappointed!

Sehr solide
HarryS., 13.01.2021
Ich habe nicht viel Erfahrung mit Kabeln, aber es klingt gut, es überträgt die Signale von meiner Strat zum Champion 100 von Fender. Was will man mehr?

Den letzten Stern gibt es nicht, weil wenn man zu nahe an der Quelle sitzt, das Signal nicht durchkommt, wenn man weiter weg sitzt (ca. 1,5 Meter), dann klingt es wie Engelsharfen.

Jedenfalls, would buy again.

Holds up for a long time
Kriksis, 20.08.2020
I'm more of a bedroom guitarist and I don't have much experience with cables, but this one hasn't died in three years. I bought two of them and at one point I messed up the other one, but it was easy to fix it up and it still works like a new one to this day.
Cheap, easy to fix, hasn't disappointed.
