Must buy, but has software issues

Good:
-More inputs than SSL2/SSL2+
-Some professional mixing options
-SSL 360 software and direct routing
Bad:
-WME driver is no longer mono for channels, therefore WME audio driver applications (like ShadowPlay) capture both CH1 and CH2 in a L/R configuration. This will result in CH1 playing in L-channel, and it is not possible to make it non-stereo.
-Sometimes when powered on, outputs may be unresponsive or play white noise. This will likely be fixed at later date with a firmware update.

This is the audio interface of 2024

I was looking for a new audio interface with 4 input and I was in between universal audio and SSL!
The Volt series looks very simple and pleasing to the eye but I needed an ADAT connection so I went with the SSL.
Received the product in 3 days!
Unboxed and it looks very professional, I like that the 4 input are at the back and the front is neat with the headphones out and instrument that don’t look bad at all. You have 4 outputs so you can connect 4 monitors that you can control with the big knob.
Really clean preamps and lots of headroom if you enable the 4K button.
Great interface!!!

Very good all-round! 4K feature is great. The interface is super easy to use. Perfect for a small studio.

Only thing is that I wish the monitor control could be connected to outputs 3-4 at the same time as 1-2, so I could control 4 outputs with one knob, or have a button to swap between the control of those 2 stereo outs.

driver stable, sll360 simple a utiliser et complet, qualité audio au rdv, je suis heureux de redécouvrir ssl ayant était très déçus sur les bestioles rouges solo/18i20 pour ne pas citer la marque ... qui crash ou bug, dans mon cas, trop souvent..

Okay sound but overrated and software mostly poor.

The interface is okay, but I can't hear much of a difference with the 4K button depressed. It's SUPPOSED to emulate the sound of the pres on a SSL 4000. I hear a bit of air and distortion...nothing else that seems usable. I think the pres on an SSL 400 sounded MUCHO better. Free bundles of offered software are hard to get , if at all possible. Most require a download of a specific plugin manager, that takes up space, but then you have to fight with CS to find out where to put in the code....With Amplitude, I gave up. Impossible. and with most, like SSL itself, don't expect a quick answer or a solution. Extremely poor.

Unbelieveable upgrade from my Digi 003

just upgraded my DAW with a mac studio 2 x 27 inch monitors and the latest version of Protools . the SSL12 completes the package and boy do it deliver !

Superb

The SSL 12 is my favourite out of all the audio interfaces I have had
it just works, no fuss, no clicks, no pops. Plus using it with SSL 360 software is a dream. I find 4 channels more then enough for what I do
and the 4 K switch adds a little Air to the signal, especially vocals. For a reliable, great-sounding interface look no further than SSL 12 or any of the others in the range.

One of the best interfaces for small home studios

Great features, preamps, instrument inputs. A future proof expandability.
Cons: the knobs don't feel premium for the price. Sometimes after my Macbook wakes up the connection is lost. Very dependent on ssl 360 software. It CAN work without but to unlock the full potential ssl 360 is a must. There may be a steep learning curve. But not because the software is badly designed but because there's so many options lower priced interfaces are missing
