This complements my SH8B

I thought long and hard about buying this humbucker because of the 10nF capacitor inside.
But it's all good – it wasn't a big deal.

I have an SH8B.
1) The SH8B+SH8N combo – they're a great match for each other in terms of volume, tone, and character.
When switching from the neck to the bridge, you can tell they're the same guitar.
2) I really like the screws on these humbuckers.
You can put the humbucker close to the strings and it won't take up space near the pick like other/regular humbuckers.
3) Sound: dense, dark, midrange, and not lacking in highs.
I wouldn't use them on a heavy Les Paul or Explorer.
But on my Holcomb PRS, they're perfect; it brings us closer to a Les Paul.
(It's not that there were bad pickups, I just like to experiment.)

By the way, the middle position of the switch is when the bridge and neck are wired in parallel (like on all guitars). So, my bridge, due to the capacitor in the neck humbucker, has a muted high end just by those 10 nanofarads!
It's an interesting sound.

The sound is just like you would expect from a high gain pickup.
