In Ear Funksystem IEM G4 A-Band

Yes, but the price tag is outrageous for the technology level
Sennheiser be like
Does this IEM system use some analog radio technologies that are mature since decades ? Yes.
Does this IEM system include a display with size and resolution that come directly from the '80s ? Also yes.
Does thie IEM system recycles for the 3rd time an engineering design we made 20 years ago ? Affirmative.
Will we sell this IEM sytem more expensively than a flagship smartphone ? Absolutely !
So yes it's well designed, it works flawlessly, the sound is the best you can get around for analog (thankfully regarding the price tag!) and the enclosure is designed to hold its ground for year and years of hardcore touring.
Does it justify selling a product with a technology level from decades ago at this price ? NO !!
And the accessories price tags ? Come on Sennheiser, you can treat your customers better.
Regarding the sound quality, don't expect wired quality, there's still some compression/expansion as with any FM signal, but it's fine in rehearsal or concert environments and certainly better than lower priced competition in the UHF products.
I tend to prefer the menus of the G2, the submenus and the menu organization of this G4 make a bit less sense to me, but I guess it's something to get used to. Appart from frequency adjustment, it's mostly set and forget though.
I used it with my G2 emitter on the A band too and a warning : it will work if you set them on the same frequency, HOWEVER the frequency tables for the banks and channels are not the same ! It means you'll have to fill your receiver user bank with your emitter frequencies. Nothing to be bothered if you're just a casual musician, a bit more to bother if you're a concert hall or a gig promoter who have to deal with a lot of wireless gear and plan/manage their frequencies. I decided to send it back for this reason, for practical reasons I'll have to get a g3 or g4 emitter.
