The Palmer River spree is an active two-channel media DI box with a USB-C connection, designed to connect digital playback sources directly to professional sound systems. It receives audio data from laptops, smartphones, or tablets, converts this data into high-quality analogue signals, and delivers them via balanced XLR outputs. At the same time, its galvanic isolation helps to suppress ground loops and other unwanted noise effectively. If, for example, playback tracks need to be sent directly from a laptop to a PA system or mixing console, the laptop can be connected straight to the Palmer River spree via USB-C, with no need for additional audio interfaces or adapters. The integrated D/A converter, supporting resolutions up to 32-bit and 192 kHz, ensures precise and detailed audio reproduction. And thanks to balanced signal transmission, even longer cable runs can be handled reliably with minimal interference.

Mobile input, professional output
Via its USB-C connection, the Palmer River spree acts as an external audio output device, converting any digital audio content to a professional analogue output signal. The stereo signal, thus converted, is available on two XLR outputs for direct connection to mixing consoles, stageboxes, and sound reinforcement systems. Output can be switched between mic and line level, making it easier to integrate the unit into different audio setups. A ground-lift switch provides additional protection against ground-loop noise in more complex installations. Alongside the XLR outputs, there's an adjustable headphone output for direct monitoring of the audio signal; this is particularly useful for content creators and media technicians, allowing them to make quick signal checks without any additional equipment. Power can be supplied either via the USB connection from the audio device or an external power supply. When the external supply is used, the source device itself can actually be charged via the spree's USB-C socket.
