Protection for era C amplifiers
The Hughes & Kettner era C Bag is exactly tailored to the dimensions of the manufacturer's era C acoustic guitar amps, ensuring that they don't have to travel unprotected. The padded interior helps absorb minor bumps, while the robust outer shell protects the amplifier's cabinet from scratches and the wear and tear of everyday use. The real benefit of a case that's exactly the right fit becomes especially clear when travelling by car or using public transport, as the amp is stowed away very neatly, so it's less likely to move around and get knocked or damaged. It's also very useful for players who regularly load and unload their equipment, because the bag – like the amps themselves – keeps things simple, focusing on the essentials rather than feeling overstuffed with extra features. It doesn't feel overdesigned at all, it simply does exactly what it's meant to do: transport era C amplifiers safely from one place to another.
Carry that load
In everyday use, it quickly becomes clear that the idea here isn't just protection, but also about making a Hughes & Kettner era C easier to carry. The shoulder strap can be adjusted, allowing the amp to be slung comfortably over one shoulder, even when the walk to the venue is a little longer. At just over 6kg, the amplifier is easy to carry alongside the guitar itself without becoming a burden. The bag isn't bulky, but this makes it ergonomic, not just spartan; it fits very neatly around the amplifier's cabinet. A separate compartment provides space for cables, the power supply, and other accessories, so there's no need to carry loose items or pack them separately. That saves time when getting organised and ensures everything is at hand when arriving at the destination.
Essential on the road
The Hughes & Kettner era C Bag really comes into its own when the amplifier needs to be transported frequently. For anyone moving their amp between the living room, rehearsal room, and regular gigs, it provides a robust, precisely fitted transport solution. It also suits compact setups particularly well, where keeping equipment to a minimum is part of the appeal. Everything packs away quickly, with nothing left lying around. The bag helps protect the amplifier from the marks and scuffs of regular use while also providing room for essential accessories. Those who rarely move their era C may not see it as a necessity, but for regular use on the move, it's close to indispensable.
About Hughes & Kettner
Hughes & Kettner is one of the largest German suppliers of guitar and bass amplifiers. Founded in 1984 by Hans and Lothar Stamer under the name Stamer Musikanlagen GmbH, the manufacturer from St. Wendel in the Saarland can boast of its numerous innovations. For example, its first venture into the field of guitar amplifiers, the ASR64 from 1986, was the first programmable amplifier in the world. Thanks to its compact format, the Cream Machine of 1987 can be counted among the very first mini tube amplifiers. Equally influential were the Red Box analogue speaker simulation, the first six-channel amplifier (the Triamp), and the ZenTera, which used modelling technology in an integrated amplifier even before Line 6.
Always there when you need it
A Hughes & Kettner era C amplifier will typically travel from the living room to the rehearsal space, to a session, or from the car to the stage. In those situations, it's helpful when the amp can be packed away quickly and carried comfortably, virtually hands-free. Instrument cables and the era C's external power supply can be stored in the accessory compartment, removing the need to organise multiple gear-bags and helping to ensure that nothing gets misplaced. This saves time during setup and means everything is ready when required. Particularly in smaller or spontaneous setups, where simplicity is key, the bag fits naturally into the workflow, keeping the focus on the music.
