Wirklich toll, aber war nicht meins

Zuerst: Optik und Feel der Gitarre sind umwerfend. Sie ist relativ leicht, sehr angenehm für den Rücken, wenn man längere Zeit im Stehen spielt. Die Regler sprechen schnell an und reagieren über den gesamten Regelweg, So soll das sein, da hat Epiphone einen guten Job gemacht - ebenso wie bei der Abrichtung der Bünde, da scheppert nichts, und Dead Spots sucht man vergebens. Die Bünde sind eher auf matt als auf Hochglanz poliert, aber sie schrappen nicht unangenehm bei Bendings, und auch der lackierte Hals (geschraubt, nicht verleimt) bietet eine gute Bespielbarkeit. Finish ist makellos, und die zweifarbige, semitransparente Lackierung mit der geflammten Decke sieht einfach umwerfend aus. Alle Potis sitzen gerade, und die Acrylglasregler sind *sehr* schick. An Intonation oder Saitenlage herumzuschrauben, war absolut nicht nötig, nur kurz stimmen, ansonsten war die SG Tribute Plus aus der Box bespielbar. Rasch an den Hughes & Kettner Amp angeschlossen und durchgehört.

Bridgepickup liefert solide, mittenbetonte, druckvolle und durchsetzungsfähige Lead- und Rocksounds und bringt klare, differenzierte Höhen mit. Brummen tut hier nichts. Gemeinsam liefern beide Humbucker auch einen guten Sound. Der Halspickup in Soloschaltung ist jedoch für meine Ohren ein Minus, da es hier - zumindest ist das mein subjektiver Eindruck - vor allem bei höherem Gain viel Matsch und wenig Brauchbares gibt, das Ganze klingt dumpf und dunkel. Clean ist das weniger ein Problem.

Der Toggle Switch war bei meinem Exemplar ein bisschen wacklig, und beim Umschalten gab es gelegentlich Aussetzer. Das sollte natürlich nicht sein, und zusammen mit dem Sound des Halspickups war das für mich der Grund, sie wieder zurückzuschicken. Sind keine großen Sachen eigentlich, aber ich habe gerade nicht die Energie, daran herumzumodden. Sie entsprach letzten Endes einfach nicht meinen Soundvorstellungen.
