Epiphone Jeff Beck Oxblood 1954 LesPaul

I bought this guitar as I had been a long term Jeff Beck fan and seen him play live with his original LP Oxblood with BBA. I always liked the unique configuration of that instrument. As an owner of a few Gibsons, I didn’t fancy forking out £5k for a Gibson version even if I could have ever found one! The Epiphone was an attractive alternative offering good value and quality. So, my thoughts having played it for the last week; not disappointed at all. Great looking guitar, nicely finished and very playable. Played through my Marshall DSL and 4x12 cab on the same settings as my Gibson LP Standard and it sounds great. Very responsive and flexible from rich clean tones to powerful authentic LP sound. While it might lack some of the ‘meatiness’ of a Gibson it’s a fine instrument. Highly recommended.
