You Get What You Pay For

The idea of a 2 in 1 pedal with a Graphic EQ and Tuner really appealed to me as a space saver on the pedal board. I have an old Boss EQ pedal which is excellent, but the addition of the built in tuner sounded like a good option to save space. This pedal looks great and is well built, but the EQ is quite poor I'm afraid. I thought this would be just like my Boss EQ with a tuner built in, but it's not. The EQ on this pedal is very limited in that the range is not very linear. As you move the sliders up and down there is no discernible difference in the EQ until the sliders reach their max position, and even then the tone still isn't right for each frequency band. However, this is a very affordable pedal with some good features so all is not lost. I now use this pedal as a "Boost" in my effects loop when I need a bit more oomph for lead playing. I use it to boost the mids and my volume, and I can also check my tuning too!

Y
Cheap Graphic EQ with Tuner
Ygvyth 30.11.2013
Hi.
First time when I decided to buy any Graphic EQ I was very confused which one to choose. There is hundreds of EQs on market. Becouse I'm practical person and I need quick tuner as well I decided to buy this one. 2 in 1 should be good. Nothing more wrong !! First things first:
Construction: Looks good, well done, size quite small, Jack sockets got like blocades or klick and cable wont plug out so easy. All ok, just DC input is in very bad place, and small knobs sometimes like to fall off.
Quality is ok.
Sound: Sound is good, any change on knobs, gives sometimes big differences. Very nice effect to change sound type during playing, like for solo, or separated riffs. If you have your favourite settings it can give a good kick and boost for your sound.
I use it with Metal Muff, and I plug it after MM for enchancing my sound.
NEED to be set properly otherwise there will be unwanted noises on the end.

Tuner is useless, total disaster. Very bad in tuning. Not worth.

Final word:

Artec Graphic EQ & Tuner is cheap and good EQ for somebody with smaller budget. It will do the job. It gives good range of sound shapeing and modeling.

DS
Good for Bass

I use this pedal in combination with an E.B.S Metal drive for some lovely high end bass solos.
Not so good when used with batteries as the tuner fails to deliver but with a good power supply it delivers every time.

Versatile pedal

8 band eq with gain. very versatile, you could set it as a mid boost or as an overdrive(pretty good one), and it's very nice in the effect loop for tone shaping. Tuner is meh, but gets the job done

Still getting to grips with this.
DaveyDave 15.06.2019
Never owned an EQ before so I'm still getting used to it. But this unit seems well built and reactive. Combine the gain and high frequency for a good treble boost. Still experimenting with sounds but the build quality is good etc...The tuner function is a nice addition, not the most accurate but it will put you somewhere close, which is ok for me.

TK
Good EQ but mine was a bit buzzy!
Tommy K 24.06.2020
This EQ was fine but I had to pair it with a noise gate.. as it produced a low level buzz all the time when plugged in. When using battery power, it only lasted about twenty minutes, so this wasn't practical at all. Fine for basic needs.

K
Artec eq and tuner
Kaos13 10.06.2013
I bought this artec eq pedal because it has a built in tuner. I use it in the fx loop of my bugera 333xl amp , and i must say the eq pedal in conjunction with the eq on my amp have helped me shape my tone considerably. The pedal does not add much noise to my amp when I turn the gain control knob to the full because I use the noise gate of my amp with it. But I usually use the eq pedal to make subtle changes only. The tuner is easy to use and i think this pedal is a cheap alternative to boss pedals. For the price this pedal is a good deal as it has a gives sound and can be used not only as an eq but also as a tuner.

Neat little 10band graphic
Lewis S. 24.07.2014
This is a decent EQ. It is a very subtle sounding EQ too, I used it specifically to boost the 1.4khz frequency for modern metal (Djent) and cut some lows out of my 8 string.

Works fine and if protected would survive shows fine.

Good eq for its value
Cemm 25.08.2023
The eq works as expected. You can dial your sound as you wish. The tuner is mid, you can’t tune precisely since you can only use 3 led’s but to for quick little tuning its fine. But the switch to switch between tuner and the eq should have been a stomp type switch so you could just use your foot to switch between the two. Now you have to do it with your hand cause the switch is very small
