Not used it for tuba but...

I use this gooseneck clamp stand for the kick drum mic.
The stage I usually work on is not very deep so any performers in front of the drummers quite often accidently knock the kick mic out of position, and most drummers seem to push the kick drum into the mic quite often too.
This clamps to the rim of the kick drum very solidly and the gooseneck is stiff enough to hold the mic in place.
I tend to position the clamp on the rim above the soundhole and 'dangle' the mic in to place. I currently use an Audix D6 kick drum mic, which is long enough to just poke through the kick drum soundhole, although I tend to position the kick mic about an inch from the skin of the drum, or just outside the hole.
I've only used it a few times and so far it does the job really well, and because there's no floor stand to get in the way the mic stays where I put it in the soundcheck.
On the down side, there is a lip on the 'foot' of the clamp which is a bit too long for drums with thin rims, but this is easily fixed by unscrewing the gooseneck from the clamp and re-attaching it so that the gooseneck is the same side as the thumbscrews.
There is an Audix clamp similar to this which is cheaper, but I didn't know that at the time!
