Confused

my guitar’s the best 28.01.2024

All the clips I’ve heard of it on YouTube sounded awesome. When I got it however, I was disappointed.

Not sure if my particalur product has way lower gain, but I need to crank the gain fully, to get a decent sound. Actually, all the EQ controls are basically dimed to get an ok sound,. Sounds like a relative of the SLO-head to me, not like the real amp.

I know the 100W amp has a way fuzzier tone, and the amp has a great, full sound with the gain at 4.
This module though, I had to crank up everything, and it still doesn’t sound as good or full. And because it’s dimed, there’s nothing more to add internally. Then I’d need pedals in the SYN-1’s FX-loop or in front of it.

Btw, I’m running this module as it says in the manual, into a combo amp, with jacks into both input and the amp’s FX loop.

As I’ve written, maybe my version has way less gain, but to me it was ok, sadly not great.
Try it out yourself, and decide if you like it.

High gain, great sound, effective EQ and very low noise. Need no boost or overdrive in front, it sounds great standalone. And yes, it sounds like the original, very similar with cab sim going direct as well. Remarkable products, the best high gain preamps of Synergy.

Verdammt gute Abbildung vom SLO Amp. Mir fehlt Presence und Depth vom SLO Original. Zudem fehlen mir beim gesamten Synergy System 1-2 Features weshalb ich mich dagegen entschieden habe. Zudem ist die Bedienung aller Module etwas "fummelig" durch die kleinen Potis.

Über den legendären Sound eines SLOs muss man wohl nicht mehr wirklich viel schreiben - und so verhält es sich auch bei diesem Modul: Ein Hi-Gain Marshall, ohne des kratzige Mitten. Ein wirklich feiner, kultivierter und druckvoller Hi-Gain Sound. Bis Drop-A hinab voll Souverän und charakterstark (bestimmt auch noch weiter).

Die beiden Gain- und Volume-Einstellungen geben z.B. einen guten Rhythmus und Lead Sound. Beides von höchster Güte.
Clean wird das Modul nicht. Der geteilte EQ schränkt die Umschaltmöglichkeiten ein. Auch fehlen hier die Kippschalter anderer Module - daher ein Stern weniger in den Features.

Ich habe keinen "echten" SLO-Preamp zum Vergleich, aber der direkte Vergleich mit Models, Profiles und auch Selbstbau-Preamps (Röhre) suggerieren, dass der Charakter vollendst eingefangen wurde.

Schaut man auf den Preis, kostet das Modul nicht einmal 10% vom Original SLO 100. Mit einem Syn-30 ist man zusammen bei etwa der Hälfte des Preises des SLO 30 - auch wenn das Synergy-System alles andere als billig ist, kommt man hiermit vielleicht günstiger zum Ziel und ist mit anderen Modulen sogar noch flexibler.

Einfach großartig, dass die Neuauflage der Modulamps mit den original Herstellern umgesetzt wird! Das führt natürlich im Zweifel zu langen Lieferzeiten, da die Priorität evtl. auf eigene Amps gelegt wird
