Incredible pickup

I installed this pickup on an epiphone les paul standard 60s, and it's absolutely gorgeous! It has a very sweet and warm sound, with a very wide dynamic range, wonderfully pleasant when played clean, but also powerful and ballsy with some distortion. It never offends your ears with muffled or shrill sounds. To me it doesn't really shine with extreme overdrive, but that's not what it's meant to do.
The split sound is also very convincing (a partial 2.2k split in my case). The north split sounds already quite good, but the south split gives it an almost strat-like character.
I paired it with the Lollar Imperial on the bridge, and the middle position sounds marvellous, absolutely no phase problems.

poco spinto ma grande suono

ho acquistato questi pickup per un upgrade alla mia cort g290 fat... devo dre che è diventata un altra chitarra... il suono nei puliti e davvero bello sia come single coil che come humbacker.. nel distorto pecca un po di potenza che probabilmente avrei voluto per avere uno strumento adatto a suonare tutto ma nn sono per niente pentito di questa scelta... grazie a thomann per la celerità e l'affidabilita

The neck version of SH-55 is iconic sounding, it has so much musicality, On a mahogany guitar ( I use it on a PRS Tremonti SE) it is perfect. Jazz, classic rock, metal, it shines. I like the fact that it is unpotted, the metallic body gives it a honk that helps it to cut in the mix, to build its sound. Since discovering SH-55 I stopped using potted pickups, they don't satisfy me anymore.

the sound is warm but not muffled, it's really sweet, perfect output, not too much not too little, it also splits very well

i've mounted it in a Gibson SG
