Fender Player Series Tele MN BTB LH

Posseggo da anni una Stratocaster made in USA del 2007 e posso dire che questa tele messicana non ha nulla da invidiare: ottime finiture, bel suono. Unica pecca (che giustifica le 4 stelle sulle caratteristiche) è la stessa che aveva anche la mia stratocaster americana: Fender si ostina a cablare i potenziometri a rovescio perché la chitarra è mancina, ma così tono e volume si comportano come “tutto chiuso” o “tutto aperto” senza poter dosare il suono. La soluzione? Girare i fili sui potenziometri o comprare quelli specifici da mancini…. Ma in 15 anni non si sono ancora accorti che così non va?

The guitar came with a good setup :
-The relief was almost spot on, the nut is good enough for me not to touch it. All I did was to lower the bridge string height a little.
-The fretwork is very nice for a Mexican. Maybe this finish has had more care than others ? I did get a Strat player and had to go through a couple before getting one with ok frets... (not sharp)
There's an odd black line on the side which doesn't belong to the wood grain but other than that it looks nice.

Biggest complaint common to ALL Left Mexican Fenders (strat and tele at least) are the pots wiring... why do they mirror the right hand diagram is beyond me... Would it be anti log pots it would've worked but here it just doesn't. You have an on/off volume/tone control because of this until you rewire the pots. Such an obvious error always baffles me.

The pickups are nice and very crisp the cover I think is nickel and not brass like previous MIM, a nice improvement. They are hotter than my Strat player. Fairly light too.

Overall a good guitar, I'm pleased with it but I shouldn't have to rewire the pots for them to be of any use other than on/off.

Ps: On the Strat it had a nice big red 223j tone capacitor, here on the tele is one of those tiny orange button you can find in toys... shouldn't change anything on the sound quality but It's a little disappointing discovery when the tele and the strat are the same price for a much simpler instrument...

My Fender player Telecaster LH gives static noises when I touch the pickguard. I noticed via internet that other people suffered the same problem. The solution was replacing the pickguard and yes, the crackling noises disappeared. Made a sound demo but Thomann wanted me to return the guitar for this minor problem, because Fender ordered this. So I had to find new packing material, go to UPS, lost the guitar for a couple of weeks and all of that for a replace pickguard. I refused that and that's the end of my little adventure. I'm disappointed in the bureaucratic and customer unfriendly solution of Thomann. I go back to the physical shops to buy my next guitar.
