EHX BASS9 - surprisingly useful Bass machine

I'm really surprised by sound quality of this pedal.
It can't replace bass guitar entirely, but it's pretty damn close.
At some settings it lacks little bit of attack and punch, I found metal pick can help a little.
Overall it's great versatile pedal.

Impressive tool with minor issues

The pedal does what it promises and tracks really well most of the time. The sound is impressively close to that of a real bass - especially the electric bass simulations with e.g. convincing fret noises and finger slides. It sounds to me though that in the very beginning of each note the pitch has not quite caught on yet - probably takes a few cycles to identify the pitch. Another issue that bothered me was that the bass simulation seems to come with a room echo/ambience. Is this a byproduct of the algorithm or intentionally added to blur out some unwanted elements of the sound I do not know, but often left me wanting a dryer result.

Ein sehr hilfreicher Treter

Für meine Aufnahmen in meinem Wohnzimmer-Studio brauche ich hin und wieder auch eine Bass-Spur. Am Anfang war die Überlegung da eine Bassgitarre zu kaufen und einen Bassverstärker mit DI-Out, um nicht auch noch ein Bass-Mikrofon für die Mikrofonierung des Amps zu benötigen.

Letztendlich entschied ich mich aber doch für die weitaus günstigere Methode mit dem EHX-Bass9 Pedal, mit dem ich nun direkt ins Mischpult in den Line Eingang gehe und den Sound über die Klangregelung am EHX-Bass9 Pedal forme. Bass mit einer E-Gitarre über ein Pedal zu spielen ist immer ein Kompromiss und wird nie eine richtige Bass-Gitarre ersetzen, aber soundtechnisch war ich wirklich überrascht wie authentisch das Ergebnis ist. Würde ich es nicht selbst wissen, dass ich die Bass-Spur bei einer Testaufnahme mit dem EHX-Treter und E-Gitarre gespielt habe, mir wäre ehrlich gesagt kein Unterschied zu einer "echten" Bass-Gitarre aufgefallen.

Natürlich muss man sich mit dem EHX-Bass9 etwas spielen und durchtesten um authentische Bass-Sounds zu erzielen, es ist aber als Starthilfe auch ein Heftchen dabei mit ein paar Klangvorschlägen. Ich bin jedenfalls sehr zufrieden mit dem Pedal.

Les sons sont généralement de bonnes qualités (dépend bien entendu bcp de votre guitare et de votre ampli, la pédale ne peut pas faire de miracle).

Je ne pense pas qu'il fasse s'attendre à utiliser les 9 différents sons, mais avec ce choix on a une assez grande chance de trouver ce qu'on veut.

Intéressant pour faire une ligne de basse sur un looper pour accompagner sa guitare, mais ne remplace pas une vrai basse.

Petit point négatif : le manuel (qui explique ce que les potards ctrl 1 et 2 font en fonction du preset sélectionné sur le potard blanc) est en allemand. Mais on peut le trouver sur internet assez facilement.

Autre point négatif qui ne dérangera pas tout le monde : pas d'utilisation possible avec pile.
Un point positif en plus : Je m'en suis séparé suite à l'achat d'une basse, la pédale est partie très vite.
