Knosti Antistat Generation II Plus

Working from home during lockdown has allowed me the chance to convert my old vinyl collection to .WAV using a Pioneer PLX-500 to Macbook Pro. I was unable to get all the crackles out of a number of old vinyl using a carbon brush, microfiber cloth & lighter fluid approach.
My Vinyl had SUFFERED over time (Kids paw prints, moving house & damp apartment).
The Disco-Antistat cleaned them right up, almost perfect in most attempts, so much so that i feel encouraged to go digging in 2nd hand shops again knowing i can clean them up like new.

The Good:
-Easy to use
-works much better than expected
-Extra Fluid is not expensive

The Bad:
-Red plastic feet had to be glued in place, plastic clicking feature was not enough.
-Handle is made of plastic, I would have preferred something more robust.
-fluid WILL Spill when pouring back into bottle using supplied items.

So, I absolutely love the cleaning standard of this...great results...
However, I'd only cleaned about 100 records and the circular centre label clamp startup to crack and break down... The lip around the edge cracked and then piece by piece started to snap off....
I'm prepared to accept that maybe this was a one off but if not, then they really need to use better materials.... not good enough!
I've had to superglue mine back together which is by no means the way forward... It will inevitably break again :/ Will be complaining and asking for a new piece to be sent...

Saw some reviews of this item and I am glad I joined the team of happy owners. It does what sets out to do, clean your vinyl records, if all sizes; 7, 10 or 12". And it does it good. Drawbacks? Not many. It's plastic so the lever that use to rotate the record with sometimes feels like it is going to snap, but that has not happened yet. All in all, a great product and good value for money.

Um es gleich vorweg zu nehmen, die Platten werden sauber, das Ergebnis stimmt, aber die Waschmaschine ist leider echt billig aufgebaut und hat diverse Schwächen. Schade, ich hätte gerne 10€ mehr bezahlt, z.b. für eine stabilere Kurbel und einen besseren Schutz des Labels.

1. Alles ist aus billigstem Plastik, dadurch dreht die Achse auch nicht präzise gerade, die Platte eiert und schleift hier und da mal am Beckengrund.
2. Die Dichtschalen schleifen außen, oben an der Beckenkante, wenn man eine etwas dickere Vinyl einspannt, kann man es kaum noch drehen.
3. Der Gummiring der Dichtschalen hat an den Kontaktpunkten zum anderen Gummi gegenüber nur 98mm, dadurch wird immer der äußere 1mm des Labels nass. Das Label hat 100mm, da braucht es ein Gummi mit Innendurchmesser 100mm, hat es aber nicht, zumal es ja egal wäre ob dann 1mm der Auslaufrille nicht gereinigt wird.
4. Die Kurbel ist so labberig, das man aufpassen muss sie beim drehen nicht abzubrechen.
5. Bei den Achshaltern ist auch Vorsicht angesagt, die biegen sich bei jeder Umdrehung verdächtig hoch.
6. Die Platten trocknen auch nicht ganz rückstandsfrei, wenn man die Platte das erstmal abspielt hat man so ein weißes Pulver an der Nadel. Aber zum Glück nur einmal.
7. In den Abtropfständer gehen nur 7 Scheiben, wenn man nicht möchte dass sie nass aneinander fallen.
8. Der Ausgießer des großen Beckens ist so schlecht designt, das 20% beim Ausgießen zurück in den Filtertrichter außen an den Beckenwänden runterlaufen.

Außerdem hätte ich gerne die Möglichkeit einen 2. Satz Dichtschalen zu kaufen. Bieten sie aber nicht an, nur in so einem Ersatzteile Set für 30€. Nein Danke.
Bei Ebay kann man einen O-Ring mit 100mm Innendurchmesser kaufen (1,5mm Stärke) Den werde ich mal außen an den Dichtschalen anbringen, damit das Label endlich trocken bleibt.

Ich bin trotzdem zufrieden, aber die Leute die das Teil designt haben, haben es anscheinen nie selbst ausprobiert.
