For an acoustic bass it plays, looks and sounds great, unplugged. The built-in tuner is a bit wonky though (make sure to take the plastic off the battery), and I can confirm what others have said about the pickups being unbalanced. The D and G strings are maybe twice as loud as the other two. I'll probably take the nut to a shop to get filed a bit to improve the issue. Don't want to ruin this by doing it myself. The pickups are ok, I'd use them at a gig. The intonation is good enough, not perfect as with most acoustic instruments, but absolutely fine in playing. The finish is very shiny. The frets aren't sharp at all.
So aside from the pickup imbalance and the shady tuner this instrument is incredible (and feels high quality) for its price, and even in general. I definitely recommend it.
Oh, and abso-lutely get a feedback buster if you have ANY plans of using this through a speaker. It WILL feed back. The soundhole is exactly 100mm as I measured it.
