Control your tone

I use this with a 4X5 PJB cab and a clean power amp. This preamp has enough control, with low and high mid controls, that you can dial in any tone enhancements you want. I needed a little more deep end, no problem. The direct out is a nice feature too. If you need to sculpt your tone, this will do it at a reasonable price, considering PJB quality.

Nachdem ich mit dem EQ des Phil Jones X4 gute Erfahrungen gemacht habe, wollte ich den PE-4 für‘s Effektboard. Dabei handelt es sich um einen Bass Preamp mit EQ und DI. Die bisherigen Bewertungen heben besonders die positiven Aspekte des Pedals hervor, nämlich Qualität und guter Klang zu einem angemessenen Preis. Die auf Bass angestimmten EQ-Kurven sind ziemlich breit, was einerseits die Transparenz des Klangs erhöht, andererseits aber gezielte Eingriffe in den Klang begrenzt. Ich finde den 3-Band EQ des X4 fast besser. Die eingebaute Lithiumbatterie mit USB-Aufladung ist zwar praktisch, aber wenn man vergisst, sie auszuschalten, ist sie schnell leer. Auf dem Pedalboard ist sie eigentlich überflüssig. Mir wäre eine Phantomspeisung lieber gewesen. Vermisst habe ich außerdem einen Kompressor oder Limiter. Da Phil Jones öfters mal eine neue Version seiner Geräte vorstellt, habe ich mich entschlossen, auf ein Gerät mit mehr Features zu warten.

Comprar sin probar es arriesgado aunque en mi caso ya he tenido algun producto de la marca.
Todas la caracteristicas del previo son de nota alta, silencioso, nitido, con ataque. Muy efectivo las dos ecualizaciones de graves, el cambio de pastillas a piezo, el detalle de la bateria.
El contrabajo acústico, eléctrico (yamaha) y bajo pasivo suenan tal cual sin colorear con claridad ataque y mayor señal manteniendola limpia.

Phil Jones est réputé pour sa qualité de fabrication de ses produits, ce préamp ne déroge pas à la règle. C'est solidement construit, intelligemment pensé, et surtout, ca sonne ...
Je joue en direct sur la sono (Bose) le mix est simplement parfait.
