Wow, this is beautiful!

I had been looking forward to my Sire V8 natural for quite a while, I took my time researching different basses and ordered before it was in stock.

It was so worth the wait. To begin with the pictures do not do this thing justice. When I opened it I was blown away by how good it looks. The finish on this instrument is beautiful.

This feels like a premium instrument and plays like a premium instrument. The neck is smooth and fast, the hardware is very good and the tone is excellent. The controls on active allow you to shape your sound to how you want it.

The set up out of the box was perfect for me.

I thought the bass I had previously (Fender MiM Precision 60th anniversary) was good but this blows it out of the water. I can't wait to get to know it better.

Das ist mein erster Marcus Miller Bass. Er kam in einem richtig tollen Gigbag hier an. Dieses Gigbag ist beinahe so stabil wie ein Koffer. Sehr gut gepolstert, der Bass soll eindeutig nicht in meiner Kammer verstauben, sondern nach draußen in die Welt getragen und vorgeführt werden. Nach dem Öffnen der Reißverschlüsse der Tasche bleibt mir die Luft weg. Verdammt, ist dieser Bass schön. Der glänzende Klarlack betont die traumhaft schöne Maserung des Holzes. Ich nehme ihn in die Hand. Ein Leichtgewicht ist er definitiv nicht, 4,6 kg bringt er auf meine Waage. Mich stört das Gewicht nicht, ich nutze einen breiten Gurt, und somit ist das kein Problem.
Trotz akribischer Inspektion finde ich nicht den kleinsten Mangel in der Verarbeitung. Das geröstete Ahorn von Hals und Griffbrett sieht klasse aus und liegt großartig in der Hand. Das Griffbrett ist zudem klar lackiert. Eine Augenweide. Der Hals ist schlank und einfach zu bespielen, bei meinem Bass ist bei Eintreffen alles perfekt eingestellt, mehr als Nachstimmen der Saiten ist nicht nötig.
Beim Anspielen wird schnell klar, dass dieser Bass nicht nur für Slap-Fans gebaut wird, er kann viel mehr als drahtig, die Elektronik verwandelt ihn in die eierlegende Wollmilchsau, die eigentlich kaum vorstellbar ist.
Ich habe ein paar Jazz Bässe gespielt, keiner davon konnte mit dem Marcus Miller mithalten. Es dürfte nicht einfach sein, einen besseren Jazz Bass zu finden, und zwar ganz unabhängig von der Preisklasse.
