A lot of fun !

I played a solo concert recently on a bass fitted with these strings .
The tension is low, compared to Spirocore mediums but not so low as
to be flapping around. They have a bright front edge (pizz and arco) and a fairly full sustain. They work pretty well arco and I think after working with them for some time would be quite nicely balanced between pizz and arco.
Because they are wound with copper (I think) they make a lot of noise with finger movement... I imagine a lot of people would hate this but playing solo, that tempted me into some different areas . I did have a lot of fun !
Listening back to the recording I was surprised how little the finger-string-noise stood out. Overall the recorded sound is really nice - full and punchy. So, I ordered a set to try out on my German bass .. :)
These strings definitely won't be to everyone's taste but they are well made and I'd recommend anyone to check them out .

Die Aquila Reds sind die dünnsten Bass-Saiten mit Kunstoff-Kern, die ich kenne. Die Saiten klingen obertonreich und relativ hell. Sie haben ein extrem langes Sustain. Von der Spannung her eignen sie sich für alle Spielarten, wobei ich selbst nur zupfe und streiche. Für das Zupfen würde ich sie vielleicht nutzen (da sind sie sehr ähnlich zu Zyex Light), was mich aber stört, sind die metallischen Nebengeräusche beim streichen. Es klingt, als ob die Windungen gegeneinander oder gegen den Saitenkern leicht klirren. VErmutlich mehr störend für den Spieler als für die Zuhöhrer, die das wohl nicht hören. Wenn die Saiten minimal mehr gedämpft wären (weniger Sustain), könnte sich das legen und sie wären dann empfehlenswert.

Guter Sound und pizz angenehm zu spielen, auch wenn sie für mein Gefühl zu dünn sind.
Interessant die Knoten/ Kugel-Befestigung für den Saitenhalter!
Außerdem sehr weich und deshalb mit dem Bogen eher schwierig.

Ce sont les premières cordes de contrebasse à filets ronds que je joue.
C’est un peu déstabilisant au début, mais on s’y fait vite, surtout pour ceux qui comme moi viennent de la guitare basse .
Il s’agit de cordes à âme nylon, donc la tension est moindre que des cordes à âme métal, mais pas tant que ça…
Le sustain est incroyable même sur un instrument d’entrée de gamme .
Je ne pratique pas l’archet et ne peux donc pas me prononcer sur la question.
Je joue principalement de l’impro en acoustique avec un guitariste et un mandoliniste. Dans cette configuration, ces cordes font parfaitement le job.
