Nice looking front skin.

I bought this skin mainly because it is black and thought it would look good on the kit. After tunning the kit the kick drum was sounding fantastic. When I went to record the kick I found it impossible to get a good sound coming through my monitors. I have recorded many kits and have never had as much trouble getting a good sound as I had with this skin. I tried every variation possible and no matter what I done the sound was muffeled and dead sounding. It seemed to work in the oppisite way to usual. The further I put the mic into the hole the less beater I was picking up and the more bottom end I was getting. I ended up putting back on the old Remo that came off and was able to get a great sound straight away. For me its nice sounding on the kit but not for recording.

Difficult to get a good sound out of this skin! I was using a Shure kick mic, mounted in the hole, but the sound wasn't as expected. But the kick sound is good to the ear. I don't know what exactly am I getting wrong. They are affordable and they fit well a black Tama kit.

Ich nutze das Regulator-Fell in Kombination mit dem SuperKick I. Somit kommt aus einem selbst kurzen Kessel (22x14) ein klasse Sound raus. Wer bei seiner Bassdrum Schwierigkeiten mit dem Klang seiner Bassdrum hat (Wie zum Beispiel langer und zu hoher Nachklang mit wenig Punch und bei viel Dämpfung dann toter Bassdrum-Klang), dem sei das Fell wärmstens empfohlen. Nachdem das Fell montiert war, konnte ich den Großteil der Dämpfung aus der Bassdrum entnehmen und die Bassdrum gibt den richtigen Sound und der Kesselklang kommt endlich zum Vorschein.

Zu der Verarbeitung kann ich noch nicht viel sagen. Das Fell sieht sauber verarbeitet aus. Die Fellöffnung ist verstärkt. Der Dämpfungsring könnte sich mit der Zeit lösen. Sollte das passieren, kann man ihn ja einfach wieder draufkleben.
