Great idea and very convenient, but shoddy build.

I use this as a "demo" mixdown device with my 8816, and it's great for that. I had a problem from the start with intermittent leds (for mute and solo), which necessitated sending it back to the UK for repair. It took 2 months.

Ultimately, the build quality is just mediocre. The faders feel kind of sloppy, and the aluminum faceplate has an unfinished quality to the edges. I'd expect more for the price, but it IS very convenient, rather than twisting the knobs in the 8816, PLUS the faderpack frees up the level knobs to be cue volumes - very nice.

Mein 8816 Mixer war noch nie so schön zu bedienen wie mit dem 8804.
Warum nur 3 Sterne für die Bedienung dann? Weil die Recall Software (zumindest auf dem Mac, verschiedene OS Versionen getestet) nicht immer zuverlässig connected und mehrere Anläufe erforderlich sind. Aber ohne die Software können 8816 und 8804 nicht miteinander arbeiten, der Rechner muss also an sein und die beiden Geräte per USB verbunden. Aber wenn es klappt, klappt es wunderbar. Um den 8816 mit dem 8804 benutzen zu können, muss man im Gerät einige Jumper umstecken, also das Ding aufschrauben und ein bißchen fummeln. Ist aber für jeden mit einem Schraubendreher machbar und per Anleitung gut erklärt.
