Nice flounder

I bought this microphone both for in ear monitoring (live as well as in rehearsals) and for recording the bass drum.
For monitoring I place the microphone in front of the drum set, the little switch on its backside set to linear. The result is a powerful bassdrum sound in front of everything else of the drum set. The guitars and bass are still hearable though - perfect for me.
Recording is even easier: flip the backside switch to mid-scoop, put the microphone into the bassdrum and you are set.

The big advantage over other non-boundary microphones in either situation is that the Shure Beta 91A does not require any microphone stand. Due to it's heavy build it even takes a guitarist stepping onto it (what, in fact, happens quite often).

Very Good !!!

I use this mic in the bass drum and it's the best I 've used so far, whether live or in the studio thomann . It has a very good for my taste frequency response where the upper heights are again slightly raised , and it can be a very "sharp / plastic " Metal Bass Drum pull out of it without even bring in the other percussion instruments to the signal , such as a trigger to bypassing if you thomann Dynamic yet wants to maintain . Compared to the BETA 52 Is it much clearer and neutral ( The Beta 52 is therefore not worse , has only a very own character )

The switch, which deducts 7dB at 400Hz ( on the site about sitting the ' pappige " frequency range of the bass drum ) is about a priori to have a good sound when mixing for the thomann bass drum really the Non + Ultra. Thus, one needs , in principle, a parameter of the EQ less ;) Of course, only in theory .

A part 1A and the price is justified for it! You will certainly not regret it , especially if you do thomann Live hearken unto a large plant for the first time !

Excellent for live kick drum micing - be sure to read the accompanying instructions as there are useful tips on placement within the kick drum (both in terns of distance from the skin/beater but also the ideal angle of origin of the sound source) & optimum positioning of monitors to avoid feedback.

The Contour Switch is a really useful feature - a low-mid scoop that genuinely does accentuate the low end and improve the attack of the high end.

Makes a good pairing with Shure's Beta 52a which will pick up more of the attack of the beater with the Beta 92A set with the flat response to maximise the warmth of the drum.
