Julien Bitoun is a guitarist, songwriter, journalist, speaker, YouTuber, podcaster, and a rock enthusiast in the broadest sense. He spends far too much time obsessing over little boxes with knobs and footswitches.
- What was your very first instrument?
An absolutely dreadful Strat copy!
- What’s the “guilty pleasure” song you secretly love?
I don’t really have any musical secrets—I’m not ashamed of loving Dream Theater or Disney soundtracks! If I really had to choose, I’d say “Hello Kitty” by Avril Lavigne.
- Your all-time favourite album?
Abbey Road by The Beatles or Pet Sounds by The Beach Boys, I’d struggle to choose...
- The best concert you’ve ever attended?
Queens of the Stone Age at Le Trianon in 2013. I’ve seen them many times, but that one was even more insane than usual.
- Your favourite artist or band?
AC/DC, of course!
- The first song you learned to play?
“Smoke on the Water” by Deep Purple, playing the riff on the low E string to keep it simple!
