A darkly mysterious sensuous delight!

Bought this recorder recently and already the tone is full-bodied, mellow and mature (like the woman who plays it :-)) It quickly responds to loud and soft playing without any hint of breathiness and is accurately pitched in both high and low range. It is rather heavy, being grenadilla, but I guess that's why there's no hint of reediness in the tone. Overall this recorder exceeded my expectations and I'm finding it difficult to control the time I spend playing it in its early days as it's a total delight to the senses.

Flûtiste à bec amateur de niveau avancé, je peux dite que la flûte ténor Mœck 4407 Rottenburgh en ébène est un enchantement. D'abord, plaisir des yeux pour ses lignes caractéristiques de l'époque de la facture, la prise en main est aisée et son poids est même un avantage pour la stabilité. Actuellement en cours de phase de première utilisation, elle développe un grave chaud et assez sonore dès qu'on l'a utilisée depuis quelques minutes. Très réactive, les réponses dans l'aigu sont dynamiques et la couleur est fluide et ronde. Son timbre se rapproche de celui d'un traverso baroque et c'est un vrai plaisir
de jouer le répertoire de cette époque. Je recommande sans hésiter cet instruments aux plus exigeants !

Beautiful recorder! a little heavy, since its grenadilla, but I've got pretty big hands so I'm fine. Very rich and deep sound through all registers. Low notes are particularly powerfull, which I love. Still needs to be played in, though, But i'm sure it will keep getting better. Fingerholes are very comfortable.
