I use these and Hercules stands. For most uses, I prefer the Hercules ones - they're just sturdier.
These seem to be fine, and Ultimate claims that the padding on the feet is nitrocellulose-safe.
But what I don't like about them is this:
1. They seem to slightly wobble much more than the Hercules stands.
2. The upper part is being held in place by the force of friction against a plastic piece, which seems to be fine but still I'd prefer some type of metal lock.
3. Once you place a guitar in the cradle, the rubber holds it snug, which would be a great feature if you didn't have to apply some force to pull the guitar back out. This can be a problem if the stand is close to something like drums, a chair, etc. - pulling the guitar out of the stand can precipitate a motion that can have the guitar hit the object near it. I've put a very noticeable dent in my Strat-type guitar like that - fortunately it has a relic-style finish so this only adds to its character, but still. With a Hercules stand, you just need to slightly lift the instrument and then no additional force is required it to remove it from the stand.
As a plus from the Hercules, this stand can hold a Telecaster better (the smaller headstock is a bit of a challenge for the Hercules).
All in all, if you're careful this is a very nice stand, so I wouldn't avoid it. I just prefer the Hercules.
