Fantastic guitar and even more impressive when you factor in the price!
If there's a better acoustic guitar for less than £200 available to purchase, then I'd be very surprised.
I've been playing this guitar for the last few days and I'm blown away by it. I own quite a few guitars, both acoustic and electric, most of them probably cost at least twice this one did. I've been working away quite a lot and I wanted an acoustic that I could throw in the boot of my car and not worry about so much.
I was impressed as soon as I removed it from the packing. The three piece back looks very nice indeed. My only criticism is the box that the guitar box came in was open on delivery. It wasn't a major problem as plenty of 'air bag' packing protected the guitar box, but I'd like to have seen the box taped as well as stapled as the staples had come out. Ordered it on a Sunday night and it arrived in the north of England mid Wednesday afternoon, which is faster than a lot of things bought within the same country.
The guitar sounds really nice. I think it's around a double zero size, so larger than a parlor, but smaller than a dreadnought. The action is nice and low (lower than my Seagull acoustic when I first bought it) and once tuned sounded great straight from the box, it didn't need a set-up of any kind. It has sparkly high freqs, rounded mids and tight lows, suitable for any kind of acoustic playing, from finger picking to camp fire strumming. It looks like a much more expensive guitar and I particularly like the ebonized wood used on the tuner buttons.
I wouldn't hesitate in reccomending this guitar to anyone. If you're after a cheaper 'knockabout' guitar like me, it's fantastic for that. Or I expect it would make an absolutely brilliant purchase if you are just starting playing as the action means learning those first chords won't be a struggle because of its low action, something that is often a problem on less expensive models. It even has a set of D'Addario Exp strings installed, so that's another £15/20 saved in buying a good set of strings. I'm actually not throwing this in a soft gig bag, I'm buying a hard case for it as it's just become one of my favourite guitars and for £185? You really can't go wrong, if I'd played it in a shop without looking at the price, I'd have estimated it would have cost easily more than twice its price from how it looks and sounds.
