Excellent strings - especially the ball end

The strings sound and play great, much like any nickel plated steel strings. But where Rotosound differs from other manufacturers is the quality in how they create the ball end wraps/fastening. When you compare these with other (big name) brands you will find a much securer and longer wrap around the ball end. There's very little "slack" around the ball making tuning stability much, much better than most other brands. The length of the wrap is also much more consistent (compare with any other big name string manufacturer and you will often find good AND really bad wraps around the ball end).
The color coding of the ball ends are also much smarter than how others do it (3 colors instead of 6).
The packaging is also excellent with just one hermetically sealed package and not seven different ones - an outer package and then one each for the six strings, like many still do it.
And like many here have said, the extra high e-string is a great bonus, although I find that it's seldom needed since the strings don't break unless you have some burrs on the bridge saddles or similar.

Long lasting strings

The best strings imo. I have a Telecaster with a set that have
been on about a year now, still have the clarity even on the wound strings.

Great strings, great price

Way back when, in the 1970's when I first started to play guitar, Rotosound were THE string to use. All the pros used them, so they were like an aspiration purchase. (I remember Mike Rutherford of Genesis used Rotosound strings on all his guitars and advertised as such)

The strings are still great and have a lovely ring to them and sustain. I use them on my Strat and they suit the guitar fine. I've NEVER had a breakage using them live or in rehearsal and so find them very reliable, and that matters if you play out a lot!

So, therefore not only do they sound great, I have great confidence in their durability and longevity. The free top string is a bonus if you are a hard hitter and snap them, but I've never had one snap!

All in all they are great and I would recommend anyone to get a set and use them, I can promise you will be surprised by the quality and question why you hadn't used them before.

The very best brand for the most usual set. PERIOD

I started my relationship with Rotosounds back in the early 80's. Like a colleague here pointed out already, Rotosound were THE string to use at the time. And there is a very good reason for that, one reason that lives on even today.

Sound great, always fresh, ample choices, last long and are -overall- dependable and effective. In addition, there is an EXCEPTIONAL differentiation/competitive advantage between Rotosound and any other brand: the extra first string. Without being more expensive, Rotosound offers high quality strings + peace of mind: UNBEATABLE!
