I'm using this for some effect units I use at FOH. I picked this case over the more sturdy THON case I was using earlier, due to its light weight and small format since I often need to drag the case through busy crowds at festivals and stuff.
I have a few Rockbag products since before and have liked the quality, but this one doesn't hold up to the same standards. First of all, the rack rails inside are a bit shorter than the height of the case, meaning that the bottom screw for the bottom rack unit actually ends up below the rail. There's also no type of springing system in the rails, so the nuts just float around in there, meaning you need to insert the modules vertically when you mount them. Second, the handles are WAY too long. Granted I'm not very tall, but to be able to carry the case by the handles without bending my arm, I reckon I'd have to be at least 190cm tall. I used to carry it by the shoulder strap but that eventally broke so now I'm left with the awkward handles. One last thing that I miss (and that I've seen on similar caes) is some sort of padding for the doors. As it is now, the front and back are completely unprotected during transport and I've resorted to putting a hoodie in the front to protect the panels.
Wish I had known all this when I bought the case - in that case I would have gone for a better alternative.
I bought this rockbag case for my bass head several years back and it is still serving me well to this day.
It is quite heavy due to the wooden interior but the construction is solid and it isn't a burden to carry or move around. No worries about the quality of the exterior either and the zips are of good quality. Highly recommended if looking for an alternative to other rack cases.
