Cute little toy

More a toy than an actual instrument. But a very cool toy for fooling around and trying to hit accurate notes on fretless design (kudos to traditional string instruments musicians).

Belongs in the house of any musical family

Such a fun product. Each musician will find a different way of playing this thing. With a good ear, it's surprisingly easy to play melodies on it. The construction isn't very robust, so there is risk of damage during shipping. Ours came slightly bent, but functional. I was able to open it up and re-bend the metal support rods to help correct it.

Exactly as advertised. A bit difficult to get the right pitch due to thick fingers, but that was expected and should improve with practice.

Un jueguete entretenido, pero poco más

Compré el Otamatone para regalárselo a mi pareja en navidades (a ella le hacía mucha gracia este instrumento). Ella no lo ha usado casi nada, pero yo si que le he dado algo de uso.

De entrada para un músico acostumbrado a teclas y trastes el estilo "fretless" es un poco complicado, pero con unas horas acabas pillándole el punto.

Es divertido de usar y muy simpático, pero poco más. A nivel práctico si no vas a sacarle partido a esa simpatía singular en un vídeo creo que es mejor usar un sintetizador digital como el que viene en cualquiera de las principales DAWs, ya que el sonido del Otamatone no es ninguna maravilla y que para captarlo con calidad tendrías que microfonearlo con todo el trabajo extra y posibles complicaciones que esto conlleva.

Pros:
Jueguete simpático y divertido.
Si no lo usas puedes tenerlo de decoración.
Las visitas te preguntarán que es y se pasarán un rato entretenido probándolo.
Si te gusta hacer vídeos en RRSS podrás fardar de instrumento.

Contras:
No tiene salidas, para grabarlo con calidad necesitarás microfonearlo.
Necesitarás dedicarle algo de tiempo antes de poder tocar unas cuantas notas seguidas bien afinadas.
Escasa aplicación musical práctica.

En definitiva, si te llama la atención o quieres añadir algún artículo a tu cesta sin pretensiones de que sea un instrumento con el que producir tu próximo hit te lo recomiendo. También si te gusta hacer vídeos que llamen la atención a tus seguidores. Pero si por el contrario buscas un sintetizador económico con el que juguetear y que puedas añadir a tu set buscaría otro artículo.
