Over my expectations!

I was on the search for a cheap TS-overdrive and was looking at the Joyo/Harley Benton Vintage Overdrive, the bad monkey and several others. i took a chance with this one.

The first surprise was how robust it looks. The knobs are smooth and sturdy.

The clean knob makes the pedal very versatile. When clean is all the way to the left you will get coloration and compression of the signal all the way to the right it will act like a clean boost. I played with the drive and the tone knob and the smoothness surprised me at this price. I would actually call this a cheap boutique overdrive pedal. It is smooth, punchy and have a very low noise level.

I have compared it next to a Maxon od808 and this one definitely stand on its own.

Overdrive TS:ish.

Well, this is a JRC4558 opamp with diode clipping. TS! But here is also a TexasInstrument ne5532 used for the clean mixing. The the tone is only effecting the overdrive part so the clean is not affected. Very nice! And this device is a through-hole mounted components. So it is a very good platform for DIY mods if you would like to test different diodes. It is a low cost, but most of it seems pretty good. Caps are good there they need to good. Pots are good for the price. Over all very impressed for the price. The only thing that I have to say is that is on the negative is the feets are too high, the Velcro (not included) does not grab this very well to the pedal board, it is also quite big for modern standards. [You can not have though hole and small]

This is a nice sounding pedal. I have used it as a boast, overdrive, and a smooth distortion. The pedal is well built and easy to use. You can decide how much clean signal you want w/ your OD and vis-versa.

You won’t get a metal sound with this pedal but you can get a nice rock & roll tone.

Highly recommend you try it out. For the price you really can’t loose.

I love this creamy, warm OD

Wanted an OD, after switching from MultiFx to an amp + pedal setup. Started low budget, figured I'd replace cheap, generic pedals with high-end, more specific ones after a while, but this one isn't going anywhere. It's warm, creamy, is great for boosting an already overdriven amp but I use it mainly for a warm lead tone directly in a clean amp. The clean control works really nice and lets you blend in your clean signal.

I've since replaced my cheap reverb, delay and distortion, but like I said: this OD is staying on my board.
