Amazing guitar let down by poor attention to detail
This is the third VOS Les Paul I have owned and it seems Gibson need to go back to the drawing board...not with the guitar (which is incredible!), but with their poor quality assurance procedures.
When the guitar arrived, the nut had not had its final shaping or smoothing so was left with sharp, square corners and file marks left in it. The fret ends had also not been finished off properly and were so sharp as to make the underside of your fretting fingers sore. Finally, the frets has not been correctly levelled with three frets needing quite a bit taking off.
I must say the Thomann customer service has been excellent throughout and I would not hesitate to recommend them if you buy one of these.
One final point; Gibson used to provide a nice pack of goodies with these guitars: polishing cloth, canle, neck adjuster, picks etc. etc. With this guitar...zero. Just a COA and that's it.
Come on Gibson. These are several thousand Euros and would it eat into your profits so much to give a few case goodies away?
