Trevlig och mångsidig gitarrmick!

Installerade den här i halsläget tillsammans med en EMG 81 i stallet på min Solar S1.6. Den ger ett runt och fint ljud både om man spelar cleant eller distat. Perfekt för solospel. Gillar även att man kan splitta den och få ett ljud likt en EMG SA singlecoil för ökad mångsidighet.
Jag skulle dock rekommendera EMG 89R i detta läge istället då singlecoil blir att ligga närmast halsen.

Bridge position.

I installed this in the bridge of my tele, I wanted to upgrade my singlecoil tele to a dualhumbucker for a heavier sound but still keep some of that singlecoil character like before the upgrade.

I have not used a 85 in the bridge before so I don't know how they compare, had a 81 in another guitar and this is not worse, this is working great for me. I play alot of heavy metal aswell as some funky stuff in between and this pickup works both ways. As expected from a dualmode active emg.

I would recommend this pickup if you wanna have both a good clean tone but also have the ability to go heavy as *#@! when your crowd is losing attention.

I love these pickups

I initially fitted a pair of these to an Epiphone Les Paul, they are stunning - EMG-style HB tones that are just what you need for rock, and also able to switch to ultra-clean strat tones that are real fun from an LP - genuine bright, crystal clear single-coil sounds, not like the split coil sounds usually offered with humbuckers - even the best of those come nowhere near to this.

I then fitted them to a lap steel, and with the SA setting they are excellent when you play with fingers. I have since bought another set used, which I will fit in something soon I hope

A versatile monster!!

The Emg 89 is sooooo versatile as it gives you the best of both worlds- full on active humbucking power AND crystal clear single coil chime with no noise. It will turn any guitar into an all rounder, from metal to chicken pickin at the flick of a switch. As an all round player I need my guitars ready for all styles, the 89 gives me this. And just in case anyone is wondering about volume difference between modes, it is very small and actually helps for quiet moments with out the need for standing on pedals. I luv it . Highly recommended!!
